/// Fest draws nearer...

Quick details: JagFest 98 will be held on August 1, 1998, in Corfu, NY.
Tickets are $10 each ($12 at the door). It will last from 9am until midnight!
Ticket price includes stickers and a special issue of the Atari Zone anzine.
More details can be found at the official JagFest 98 website: http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/4062/

As if you didn't already know :-). Well, on with the show then!

/// KrunchFORCE Confirmation

Want to see Gorf 2000 at JagFest in person? If so, then you're in luck, because Terance Williams of KrunchFORCE has comitted to attending JagFest '98! Terance will be making the trek all the way from Michigan to display Gorf 2000 and possibly *NEXT* if there is enough complete to show. Steve Scavone of KrunchFORCE is not positive that he can make it to the Fest, so everyone be sure to e-mail him and pester him to come. :-)

There may also be a formal KrunchFORCE presentation.

/// Dark Knight Games & Video Vision

Dave Bell from Dark Knight Games and Dave Bowen from Video Vision publications will be in attendance at the Fest. DKG will be bringing their Jaguar Development kit, along with some other interesting Jaguar-related goodies, while VV will be covering the Fest for it's 'zine.

DKG also plans on hooking up four Rotaries and four Rapid-Fire controllers to Jaguars, so people can use them and buy them if they like.

/// Touraments!

Look for tournaments consisting of the following games:

Super Burn Out
Ultra Vortek
Classic Game Tournament Featuring Pong
Lynx Tournament Featuring Checkered Flag
...and a Mystery Game!

The JagFest organizers have been working on getting a Schedule of Events setup for the "big day". Here's an exclusive look at the preliminary list, which is in no way final:

JagFest '98 - Preliminary Schedule

9:00 - 10:00 Doors open. Setup & organization (Jag Networks, Dentec, etc)
10:00 - 12:00 Free play, tournament signups
12:00 - 2:00 Tournaments take place (SBO, UV, mystery, Pong & Lynx Checkered Flag)
2:00 - 3:00 JagModem Demonstration featuring Ultra Vortek vs Carl Forhan
3:00 AtariMania competitions begin, end when necesary.
4:00 - 5:00 Jaguar Underground demonstration & Company Presentations
5:00 Door Prize giveaway (BJL Jaguar, etc)
6:00 and on Free play

/// Comlynx Craziness

We're looking to get a big Comlynxed game of Checkered Flag (or any other Comlynxable game) going, so if you have a Lynx, be sure to bring it along! If we have enough copies of CF, we will do a big game for the tournament instead of doing an elimination type of tournament.

/// New Stuff on the JagFest Website

Soon there will be a few new sections to the Fest webpage, specifically a Special Guests section and a Prizes Page. The names are pretty self-explanitory, so I won't bore you with a description of what they will contain. Look for them on the site at http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/4062 sometime in the near future.

/// Show no Mercy!

Time to wrap up this "issue" of the Fest newsletter. As always, questions & comments can be directed to me at KevinManne@wycol.com.

See you there!
