those who haven't heard, here's the vital JagFest info:
Quick details: JagFest 98 will be held on August
1, 1998, in Corfu, NY.
Tickets are $10 each ($12 at the door). It will last from 9am

/// Media Blitz
Telegames has agreed to send out Fest flyers
with orders! I should send them out later this week (hopefully
tomorrow), so look for some flyers like the one I have on the
JagFest page with your orders from Telegames. Too bad I didn't
think of this sooner so they could be sent out with Worms. Oh
well...

Brian Rittmeyer (bcr@servtech.com) posted this
at Jaguar Interactive:
The Star-Gazette is a Gannett newspaper in
Elmira, N.Y., about a two hour drive from the site of the second
annual Jaguar Festival in Corfu, N.Y.
I will be writing a story in advance of the
festival on the interest in Atari and the Jaguar, and plan to
attend and cover the festival itself. The stories will appear
in our paper and possibly others through our wire services.
I am interested in interviewing Atari/Jaguar
collectors on what they like about Atari, the Jaguar and the idea
of an "underground" game movement. (I'm familiar with some of
these things myself as I am a 2600 and Jaguar owner.) If you happen
to live in our coverage area I would be particularly interested
in talking with you.
Please e-mail me with your name, the city and
state where you live, and a phone number where you can be reached
and I will contact you in the next few weeks. I'll try to respond
to everyone, but if I get a flood of responses to this post I
may not call all.
While I am currently planning on contacting
Telegames about their Jaguar projects, I would also be interested
in hearing from other companies or individuals developing games
for the Jaguar or other Atari video game systems. Our advance
story would likely run in late June or early July.
Thanks for your attention. If you would like
to learn more about our paper, follow the link below to Star-Gazette
Online.

/// Tournament Time...
Many of you probably don't know what to expect
when you show up in Corfu, NY, on August 1st. Aside from meeting
people that you'd recognize from Jaguar Interactive, Atari Times
Boardroom, usenet groups, and so forth, there are many fun things
planned. One of these is a series of tournaments that will test
your Jaguar skills. We will test your speed, strength and ???
(yep, there's a mystery tournament that most of you won't be able
to prepare for!).
The tournaments are currently in planning stages,
but they are already guaranteed to have lively competition. Everyone
who attends should feel free to enter the tournaments, even if
you're not a "pro". ;)
Further details on the games involved will
be disclosed next week.
/// Prizes
We're still getting the prizes together, but
here's some of the things that are in the works:
Behind Jaggy Lines (BJL) Modified Jaguar
Prototype Dark Knight Games Rotary Controller
Team Tap
Atari T-Shirts
Games
...More to come!
/// Jaguar Voice Modem Prototypes!
Yes, it's true...the hardware Guy has come through
again. On display and in use will be a prototype Atari Jaguar
Voice Modem! This is one thing any true Atari/Jaguar fan won't
want to miss out on! Hopefully we can set it up to play against
someone who has another modem and isn't able to attend the Fest.
I'll pass along any info I get on this.
/// Annihilation Time
...and so closes the third issue of the JagFest
Newsletter for 1998. Things seem to be going really well, and
I am very pleased with the response I have received about the
Fest from everyone so far. Thanks to Dave Homenuck for helping
write this issue, since I've been finishing up school it's been
tough to get updates done. I've updated the Guest List, but if
you're not on there please let me know...you may have gotten lost
along the way. My appologies if you were.
